Doors open no sooner than 30 minutes prior to most scheduled events and performances.

All events and performances begin no sooner than their scheduled start time.

Why’s It Gotta Be? Theater Group may photograph, film, videotape, record, and / or otherwise capture and reproduce the image, likeness, and / or voice of any person who attends a Why’s It Gotta Be? Theater Group production or event.  By purchasing a ticket, you hereby grant Why’s It Gotta Be? Theater Group all rights to use such content captured at the production or event for any purpose by Why’s It Gotta Be? Theater Group without any payment or consideration to you.

Generative AI content shall not be utilized in any capacity whatsoever in any WIGB production or event. If generative AI content is discovered to have been utilized in or to promote any WIGB production or business, said content shall be taken down and / or erased immediately. Unauthorized use of generative AI content may be grounds for removal from any WIGB production team(s) and / or the WIGB Board of Directors.

TLDR - we take photos at some of our shows and events, and we do not use generative AI.

With the exception of drag shows, we kindly ask that you not take any photos or record any video at any WIGB events or productions. Doing so:

• Distracts performers

• Distracts other audience members

• Goes against production licensing agreements

• May infringe upon agreements between performers and Why’s It Gotta Be? Theater Group

With the exception of drag shows, any person taking photos or recording video at any WIGB event or production may be asked to stop taking photos and / or recording videos, destroy the photo(s) and / or recording(s), and / or to leave the event or production without refund.

We do not allow pets. We welcome service animals per the ADA, which is limited to dogs and miniature horses. Click here more information. 

We do not permit any emotional support animals (ESA) or pets and ask you to plan accordingly.

Pets and ESAs should not be left unattended inside any vehicle.

You will be denied entry or ejected if Why’s It Gotta Be? Theater Group decides in its sole discretion:

• If you attempt to bring onsite alcohol or federally illegal drugs

• If you are vaping or smoking inside the performance space

• If you are considered to appear intoxicated

• If you try to sneak in prohibited items

• If you use taunting, abusive, or disruptive language with staff or other attendees

• If you use obscene or offensive gestures with staff or other guests

• If you are wearing clothing items or tattoos that depict discriminatory language or graphics, threatening or offensive words, imagery, or symbolism

• If you make others uncomfortable with unwelcome sexual attention or engage inappropriate physical contact

• If you fight, throw objects, or engage in horseplay

• If you destroy or steal Why’s It Gotta Be? Theater Group property

• If you touch our staff or engage verbally with them in a manner deemed inappropriate

Guests are encouraged to report inappropriate behavior to the nearest staff member or security guard. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone.

For the safety of our staff and attendees and to keep our performances spaces clean, the following items are not allowed in our performance spaces, and we cannot store prohibited items for guests: 

• Weapons of any kind, including (but not limited to):

  • Firearms of any kind, including concealed carry

  • Baseball bats

  • Knives of any kind

• Alcohol

• Federally illegal drugs

• Flow toys, including but not limited to hula hoops and fans

• Professional recording equipment

• Tripods

• Drones

• Selfie sticks

• Any live animal that is not a service animal

• Any item that challenges public safety per the House Manager

Please leave all prohibited items in your vehicle or at home, and please do not leave live animals or children unattended in vehicles.

Why’s It Gotta Be? Theater Group is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Why’s It Gotta Be? Theater Group is not currently accepting suggestions for productions.

• Does the event, collaboration, or work fit within Why’s It Gotta Be? Theater Group’s mission statement

• Why do this event, collaboration, or staged reading with Why’s It Gotta Be? Theater Group?

• Why not do this event, collaboration, or staged reading with another theater group, another theater company, or independently

• If not yourself, who will lead the event or collaboration or direct the staged reading?

• Where might the event, collaboration, or staged reading be performed?

• Will any special equipment be needed for the event, collaboration, or staged reading?

• Will the event, collaboration, or staged reading require any auditions and, if so, should they be held in-person, virtually, or via video submission?

• Will the event, collaboration, or staged reading require any rehearsals and, if so, should they be held in-person, virtually, or a combination of the two?
