As these optimistic, strict, discreet, and free-spirited personalities emerge through this piece written and read for Shadow, Sound, Spectacle’s 2026 Literary Monsters tour, Dorian Gray Is a Sodomite is a fast-paced comedy that considers who influences the identities we deny ourselves.
Hard to describe and impossible to forget, Shadow, Sound, Spectacle’s Literary Monsters will follow. Exploring the classics of Edgar Allan Poe, Mary Shelley, Washington Irving, Emily Dickinson, Bram Stoker, and others, the piece asks a timeless question: what is a monster?
