Perform a Monologue With Us!

Do you have a monologue or solo-scene that speaks to you, makes you roll, or that you just really want other people to see?

Presented by Why's It Gotta Be? Theater Group, come out and perform it at Say Something! Volume One: An Evening of Varied Monologues!

With the feedback from our last monologue event, we’ve again decided to not impose an overall theme: performers are encouraged to select a monologue or solo-scene regardless of genre and, as always, of gender or age - act now though! Going forward, we intend to theme most subsequent Say Something! events.

REGISTRATION

Please click here to register to perform by April 8.

There will be no audition required for this event.

Performers are encouraged to select a monologue or solo-scene regardless of age, gender, or genre.

Memorization is not required, but it is encouraged, and preparation is highly encouraged.

Late registrants are encouraged to contact admin@wigbtheater.org - you may still be able to perform, though it may be too late to be included in printed marketing.

REHEARSAL

There will be no rehearsal for this event - performers are expected to arrive with their selections prepared to perform.

EXPECTATIONS

  • Performers are expected to arrive with their selections prepared to perform.

  • Performers may bring any props or costuming they would like for their performance.

  • Barring perhaps a chair, a small table, or something similar, there will be no space allocated for set changes.

  • Performers should advise the Lead Event Coordinator of any special entrance requests (i.e. side door, main door, from the audience) prior to the performance.

  • With the exception of pre-show and intermission music, there will be no use of sound systems during the performance - performers are expected to project.

  • Performers are expected to arrive for call at 6:00PM - should you anticipate a later arrival, please make note when registering and / or advise the Lead Event Coordinator (this may not immediately disqualify you from performing).

  • All WIGB designated cast, production team members, and event staff must sign all relevant WIGB policies and agreements prior to beginning work on any WIGB event. At this time, this includes the:

    • WIGB Anti-Harassment and Discrimination Policy

    • WIGB Drug and Alcohol Policy

    • WIGB Production Safety, Understanding, and Expectations

Failure to comply will result in exclusion from working on any WIGB production or event until compliance is met.

WHAT IFS?

  • What if two registrants select the same monologue?

    • The earlier registrant may perform the monologue.

    • The latter registrant will be notified and asked to select a different monologue.

  • What if you get too many performer registrations?

    • At this time, we have not allotted a maximum number of performers - if the number of registrations and / or anticipated length of selected works begin to exceed expected time constraints, a number of registrants may be selected at random and placed on a priority waitlist to perform at future Say Something! events.

VOLUNTARY PERFORMANCE

At this time, no monetary compensation will be available for any WIGB designated cast, production team members, or event staff (see WIGB Production Safety, Understanding, and Expectations).

All proceeds from performances will go toward funding future WIGB events, performances, and operations; and toward working toward our long-term goal of providing stipends to individuals.

All performers will be entitled to up to two (2) complimentary concessions at the event.
